Study Mandarin as:

Enrolled undergraduate student

Note: To gain a major in Mandarin you need to complete Mandarin 1 and 2 in 1st and 2nd Semester, or the Summer Intensive Program, or equivalent study elsewhere (24 credit points/2 units) plus one semester (48 credit points/4 units) of the In-Country Program at Qingdao University. You can also study Mandarin 3 and 4 at QUT from 2009. More advanced units will be available from 2010 onwards.

Enrolled postgraduate student

Some faculties allow students to study a language as part of their post-graduate courses.

Students considering undertaking Honours and PhD programs should consult Mandarin staff regarding supervision.

Visiting student

If you wish to study only Mandarin, you can enrol as a visiting student. You will enjoy the same status as a QUT student, and will receive a student card allowing you to use the library and access university computers. You will receive an official transcript of your results with credit that you can transfer to a degree at a later stage.
