Madeline Chmura
Bachelor of Business (International Business)

I graduated in 2000 from QUT with a Bachelor of Business, majoring in International Business and specialising in French language.

Having a strong level of French under my belt was one of the key factors leading to my being hired by an international mining company in Brisbane where project design and engineering is being carried out for the international operation currently being built in New Caledonia.

As Change Management Coordinator – IT Operations for INCO Pty Ltd, I use my international business and French language skills on a daily basis. As I actually work for Operations in the Project office, I deal with my French-speaking counterparts daily over the phone, via email and videoconference.

My QUT degree is opening many doors of opportunity. I have just been offered a traineeship with the European Commission in their Luxembourg Office for Infrastructure and Logistics. I am confident my studies and language skills will continue to give me the edge over other students.
