The Faculty of Business generally use an "auto" class allocations process, whereby students will be automatically allocated lecture and tutorial classes for Business units they are enrolled in. Other Faculties may have a different process for class allocations.
Further information on the class allocation system can be found at the Student Business Services web site.
What Do I Need To Have?
- Internet access
- Your QUT-access username and password – should you experience any problems please contact the IT Help Desk on (07) 3138 4000
- A current enrolment program
What Do I Need To Know?
- For each unit you are enrolled in, you will normally attend one lecture and one tutorial per week; For Summer units, you will attend all classes with numbers e.g. L1 Lecture and L2 Lecture; and one T1 Tutorial and one T2 Tutorial, etc.
- The system will initially automatically allocate you to your classes (e.g. lectures and tutorials), unless where the system requires you to allocate yourself.
- Once you are allocated to a class for your unit/s, this is the one that you should attend for the remainder of the semester. To enable the Faculty to provide a safe and comfortable learning environment, you must ONLY attend the lecture and tutorial class that you are allocated in the system.
- If you would like to change your class allocation in a Business unit, please refer to the How Do I make a Change section below.
When will Class Allocations be Released?
Access to the Class Allocations System for Semester 1 2009 will be activated at 9am on Monday 19 January 2009.
Double degree students should note this is the date for Business units only, your other units may be different.
Important dates and information for all units can be found at the “View units registered on class allocations” page in QUT Virtual.
How Do I Make a Change?
From Monday 19 January 2009, 9am until Monday 2 March 2009, 8:30am you will have the ability to change your class allocations, as necessary. If the class you want is unavailable, please continue to check its availability, as spaces may progressively become available.
Reasons why you may not be able to allocate to a class?
- You can only be allocated to a class for units you are currently enrolled in;
- You have a timetable clash; or
- The class is full
Important Guidelines
- Preference is given to part-time students for evening classes (i.e. anything from 5pm onwards);
- If you are a full-time student you must make yourself available for classes across the whole week;
- If a class is indicated as "full" you will not be able to allocate yourself to this class, and you will need to choose another time;
- Please ensure you are correctly allocated a class for all your units prior to the commencement of semester in order to minimise disruption to your timetable.
