Registration
Please ensure you have read all the information of the module/s you are interested in BEFORE registering (click on the module titles above to link to the relevant pages).
You may register for up to three (3) programs, but you are required to attend all scheduled dates for the modules you register for. Only register for programs you know you can actually attend (this applies to all preferences you identify).
You will be allocated on a 'first-in first-served' basis (however your registration will be first checked to ensure you meet any specific eligibility criteria for the modules you have selected if applicable). As far as possible we will attempt to allocate you to your first preference (but cannot guarantee this), and you may also receive places in your other preferred modules dependant on availability of places. You can complete more than one module per semester if it is offered to you.
To register for any of the above modules please visit the Registration page.
Please note that ALL modules have a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum between 15-40, depending on the module.
How does it work?
Who can participate?
The Business Advantage modules are open to all students studying Business at QUT, including double degree and international students. The majority of programs are aimed at undergraduate students, however specific modules and more advanced activities will be available to postgraduate students as the program develops.
Flexibility
Business Advantage offers a range of programs and activities to suit interests and needs. You may enter the program at any stage during your degree and pursue only the modules of interest to you.
Timing
In scheduling activities every effort has been made to avoid peak study times. We will attempt to cater to the diverse attendance modes of students where possible, subject to the availability of venues and facilitators.
Costs
The majority of Business Advantage programs will be free to participants. There may be minor costs associated with any external activities or ancillary programs and participants will be advised well ahead of time where this applies.
Registration
You can register on-line for any Business Advantage module at the Registration page. You will receive an email within 7 days confirming receipt of your nomination and advising if you have been successful in securing a place.
Participant numbers
Due to the nature of some modules and availability of suitable venues a limit may be placed on participant numbers. Allocations will be based on a first-in, first-served basis and a waiting list system will be applied.
Completion of modules
Business Advantage modules have been developed with specific learning objectives and outcomes in mind. Participants will be expected to demonstrate how they have applied the knowledge learnt in the programs. Learning objectives will differ for each module. Upon completion of individual modules you will receive a Certificate of Completion. Students are also strongly encouraged to transcribe activities to their Personal Student E-Portfolio for use in preparing CVs and other skill/career related information.
We regret that we are unable to recognise activities that form part of the Business degree or which could be, or have been, used for the purposes of gaining credit towards the degree. Similarly, Business Advantage modules can not be used as credit towards your degree program.
