Orientation Week
There is a lot of information to consume as you first commence your studies. Some of this information was presented at the School of Economics and Finance Orientation Week session on Wednesday 20 February. If you missed the event, or if you would like to revisit the information, we welcome you to view the Orientation Week slideshow. If you have any concerns relating to your course, please ensure you do ask for assistance.
Town and Gown Evenings
Our School proudly hosts the Town and Gown Evening in Semesters 1 and 2. This event offers students an excellent opportunity to network with economic and finance industry representatives from various sized organisations and gain an insight into what employers expect from graduate employees.
Students in their second and third years of the Bachelor of Business (Economics and/or Finance majors) and postgraduate finance students are invited to attend the evening. Students, please refer to the School's Blackboard Community page (please search for ECFIN) for current information.
Honours Information Evening
Are you considering further study after your undergraduate qualification, to gain a competitive edge for your future career?
If you are a high-performing student, then the Bachelor of Business (Honours) program may be what you are looking for.
A Faculty Honours Information Evening is held each semester. Details regarding the Faculty event can be directed to the Faculty of Business's Research Support Office. In addition to this, our School holds an information evening in Semester 2 of each year. Details can be directed to the Level 8 Front Office, in the first instance.
More information about the Honours Program for Finance or Economics specifically, can be obtained from the Honours Information page or via the Subject Area Coordinator.
Bachelor of Business Major Information - Which Major is Right for Me?
Are you considering a major in Economics or Finance, but are not sure what careers are available to you post graduation?
If this is your situation, then come and talk to the Subject Area Coordinators, or make an appointment beforehand, to discuss whether these two major options are what you are looking for.
