Four A* Hits so far in 2008

With the release of the ABDC Journal rankings, the EIC has achieved four A* acceptances in the first half of 2008. This is truly a stellar performance from the EIC group.

Appointment to The Academy of Management ENT division committee

Per Davidsson has been voted into a position with the ENT division of the Academy of Management. The position is a five year commitment with changing roles. He was elected incoming 'Officer' of the division in the following roles: 

The Academy has over 2100+ members and the ENT division is one of the largest and fastest growing divisions in the Academy. Over 40% of members voted in the election.

 

International Conference Attendance

11 members/affiliates of the EIC have had papers accepted at the Academy of Management Conference (Entrepreneurship) held in Anaheim, August 2008. EIC members AoM paper acceptances

10 members/affiliates of the EIC had a total of 10 papers accepted at the leading and highly competitive BCERC (Babson) Conference in Chapel Hill in June 2008. Those having papers accepted are: Per Davidsson (2), Paul Steffens (2), Henri Burgers (2), Julienne Senyard (1), Evan Douglas (1), Siri Terjessen (2), Jason Fitzsimmons (1), Amanda Elam (2) and Tomas Karlsson (2).

Asia Pacific Journal of Management Editorial Board Appointment

Xiaohua Yang has been appointed to the editorial board of the Asia Pacific Journal of Management.

 

World Entrepreneurship Forum

Identified as one out of ten leading scholars world wide, Professor Per Davidsson has been invited to provide a manuscript to the World Entrepreneurship Forum hosted by EM Lyon in November, 2008. The manuscripts are to help define the most pressing issues related to entrepreneurship and societal development. The purpose of the Forum is to create a yearly think tank where political leaders, business people and directors from NGOs can meet to discuss the challenges that the world is facing today and how entrepreneurship can become a positive force in shaping a better future for all of us. France's president Nicolas Sakorsky has already agreed to participate.

 

IACMR Biennial Conference

The third IACMR Biennial Conference is to be held in Guangzhou, People' Republic of China, on June 19-22, 2008. The theme of the conference is "Olympic Spirit in Chinese Management Research", as it will be held the same summer as the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Per Davidsson is included in the group of distinguished scholars who will speak on strategy, international business, entrepreneurship and organizational behaviour. Erik Hunter and Per Davidsson has had some media coverage on their topic of celebrity entrepreneurship and have had a paper published in the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business

2007 Summary of Achievements

Per Davidsson has had papers accepted for British Journal of Management (w. Alex McKeine) and Small Business Economics (w. Mikael Samuelsson).

 

9 members/affiliates of the EIC had papers accepted at the Academy of Management Conference (entrepreneurship) in Philadelphia in August 2007. Well done to Per Davidsson, Paul Steffens, Jason Fitzsimmons, Stephane Tywoniak, Judy Matthews, Siri Terjesen, Maria Kaya, Amanda Elam and Pete Thomond.

 

9 members/affiliates of the EIC had a total of 9 papers accepted at the leading and highly competitive BCERC (Babson) Conference in Madrid in June 2007. Those having papers accepted are: Carol Dalglish (1), Per Davidsson (2), Evan Douglas (1), Siri Terjessen (2), Scott Gordon (1, with Jason), Jason Fitzsimmons (2), Amanda Elam (1), Tomas Karlsson (1) and Paul Steffens (1).

 

Members Evan Douglas and Paul Steffens had a paper accepted in the inaugural journal of Technopreneurship.

 

Siri Terejesen has had a teaching case recently accepted in the Journal of Entrepreneurship, Theory and Practice and a paper accepted in the Journal of Venture Capital, and Journal of Business Ethics.

 

Robyn Keast has had a paper published in the top tier Journal of Construction Engineering and Management.

 

Scott Gordon has had the paper "Interpersonal trust, vigilance, and social networks roles in the process of entrepreneurial opportunity recognition" published in the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business.

 

2000-2006 Summary of Achievements

Journal Publication

20 people have published 114 papers in refereed academic journals.

36 articles were published in journals that were cited in the web of science (social science and science journals). 29 of these were in journals with impact factor higher than .500, 16 were greater than 1.000.

Article Impact

9 people produced works [of any kind] that had at least one citation on Web of Science, for a total of 33 papers with citations. The total citations for Web of Science is 191.

20 people produced 126 works that were available through Scholar Google.

Journal Reviewing

6 people served on the editorial review boards for 32 academic journals. 3 people made ad hoc reviews or co-edited special issues for an Additional 31 journals.
