Dean’s Executive Group (DEG)

The Dean's Executive Group is the executive committee of the Faculty and responsible for the Faculty's strategic direction.

Chairperson - Professor Peter Little, Executive Dean Faculty of Business

Faculty Academic Board (FAB)

Each Faculty's academic board reports to the University Academic Board. The Faculty of Business Academic Board, et al, coordinates strategic planning for the continuing improvement of courses and curriculum within the Faculty; establishes criteria for good teaching and assessment practices within the Faculty; determines results in all units offered by the Faculty; considers submissions for authorised new courses and major changes to existing courses; and makes recommendation to the University Academic Board regarding course development and approval.

The Executive carries out such function as delegated to it by the Faculty Academic Board.

Faculty Appeals and Review Committee

The Faculty Appeals and Review Committee is responsible to Faculty Academic Board. The Committee reviews student appeals against exclusion for academic dishonesty, unsatisfactory performance, Faculty-level review of grade applications and failure to complete within time limits. The Committee also considers applications for readmission following exclusion, and draws attention to any apparent problems arising from the administration of admission policies and procedures.

Faculty Education Committee (FEC)

The Faculty Education Committee is responsible to the Faculty Academic Board. The Committee, et al, develops all policy related to academic programs, teaching and learning within the Faculty; is responsible for course development, continuous improvement and course accreditation involving postgraduate, undergraduate and international programs; and advises the Faculty Academic Board on the promotion and monitoring of curriculum, teaching and learning within the Faculty.
The Faculty Education Committee develops, promotes and monitors the Faculty's Teaching and Learning Plan. The Committee promotes high quality and innovative teaching within the Faculty through policy development and teaching and learning related grants and awards.

Faculty Equity Committee

The Facutly Equity Committee advises the Executive Dean on the Faculty's implementation of University policy concerning staff and student equity issues, and develops initiatives in the equity area for staff and students.

Faculty Health and Safety Committee

The Faculty Health and Safety Committee is a consultative committee which advises the Executive Dean on health and safety issues for the Faculty. The Committee addresses issues which affect the Faculty as a whole or which lie outside the responsibility or resources of Heads of School within the Faculty.

Faculty Library Committee

The Faculty of Business Library Committee provides advice to the Faculty Academic Board on the disposal or acquisition of library resources, policy issues concerning the Faculty's library needs, and library services as they relate to the Faculty of Business

Faculty Online Learning and Teaching Coordinators’ Group

The Faculty Online Learning and Teaching Coordinators' Group develops, promotes and monitors the Faculty's on-line teaching web sites, and provides advice to the Faculty Education Committee on OLT site policy, procedures and development.

Faculty Postgraduate Research Sub-Committee

The Postgraduate Research Sub-Committee is a subcommittee of the Research and Development Committee of the Faculty of Business. It has an advisory role and makes recommendations to assist the Research and Development Committee undertake the postgraduate aspects of its functions.

Faculty Research and Development Committee

The Faculty Research and Development Committee are responsible to the Faculty Academic Board. It is responsible for coordinating and encouraging the research efforts of the Faculty, administering funds for research within the Faculty, administering and monitoring research grants and postgraduate students.

Faculty Research Executive Group

The Faculty Research Executive Group is responsible to the Faculty Research and Development Committee and oversees matters such as the assessment of research opportunities, responses to University and external requirements and other current and emerging issues on a day to day basis.

Faculty Research Grants and Awards Sub-committee

The Faculty Research Grants and Awards Sub-committee is a sub-committee of the Research and Development Committee of the Faculty of Business.  It has an advisory role and makes recommendations to assist the Research and Development Committee on the awarding of internal research grants and awards as well as developing policy in relation to Faculty expenditure on research related activities.

Faculty Appeals and Review Committee

The Faculty Appeals and Review Committee considers student cases of academic dishonesty referred to it by the unit coordinator through the Head of School.  The Committee makes recommendations to the Executive Dean of the penalty to be imposed in matters where a breach has occurred.

Faculty Undergraduate Studies sub-Committee

The Undergraduate Studies sub-Committee is a sub-Committee of the Faculty Education Committee and has an advisory role in that it makes recommendations to assist the Faculty Education Committee undertake the undergraduate aspects of its functions.

Graduate Studies Board (GSB)

The Graduate Studies Board (GSB) is a strategic group that exists to oversee and ensure quality of the content and delivery of the graduate coursework programs offered by the Faculty of Business.

Dean’s Advisory Alumni Group

The Dean’s Advisory Alumni Group is responsible to the Dean’s Management Group.  The primary activities of the committee are to develop, articulate and champion a strategy and vision for the alumni activities of the Faculty and promote the enhancement of its local, national and international profile in regard to the University and Faculty mission statements and strategic plans.
