The Faculty committee structure includes Learning and Teaching Committees in each School (Accountancy, Advertising Marketing and Public Relations, Brisbane Graduate School of Business, Economics and Finance, Management, and International Business). The Chairs of each of these committees are members of the Faculty Education Committee (FEC).
The Faculty Education Committee is responsible to the Faculty Academic Board.
The Committee:
- develops all policy related to academic programs, learning and teaching in the Faculty
- is responsible for course development, continuous improvement and course accreditation involving postgraduate, undergraduate and international programs
- advises the Faculty Academic Board on the promotion and monitoring of curriculum, learning and teaching in the Faculty within all undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs of the Faculty
- monitors and makes recommendation to the Faculty Academic Board on the quality and adequacy of academic facilities across the Faculty
- develops and recommends to the Faculty Academic Board the Teaching and Learning Plan
- considers and makes recommendations on issues referred to it by the Faculty Academic Board or the chairpersons of the Graduate Studies, Undergraduate Studies, Research and Development and International Programs Committees
- advises the Faculty Academic Board on policies and procedures relating to the management, development and evaluation of academic programs and teaching practices
- considers and makes recommendation to the University Teaching and Learning Committee on the allocation of internal and external grants to support learning and teaching in the Faculty
- reviews and reports to the University Teaching and Learning Committee on issues or reports pertaining to teaching, learning and assessment at the Faculty level
- formulation of programs of study for the courses offered by the Faculty, including timetables
- resolution of operational matters as necessary including:
- program/timetable clashes
- adjustments to timing and nature of assessment requirements
- room allocation appropriateness and clashes
- considers matters referred to it by Faculty Academic Board, the Dean of Faculty or its members

School Learning and Teaching Committees are responsible for assessing course development issues and proposals, new unit proposals, and student entry and progression issues. The FEC provides a strategic and policy overview on all the Faculty's learning and teaching issues, including reports from sub-committees. The FEC reports to the Faculty Academic Board that meets approximately six times per year.
The Faculty Learning Innovation Group (FLIG) is a sub-committee of the FEC and is responsible for addressing issues and defining policies for recommendation and approval to the FEC in matters relating to the Faculty's learning and teaching within the learning management system of QUT, QUT Blackboard.
