Career Summary
Dr Yang is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Management at Queensland University of Technology. She has presented and published her work in the leading management journals and conferences around the world. She has taught Cross-Cultural Negotiation, Cross-Cultural Communication and Management, Global Strategic Management, Introduction to International Business, and Doing Business in China at undergraduate, postgraduate and EMBA levels in the United States, Australia, China, and Taiwan and lectured in Europe. She is also a PhD student supervisor. For nearly 10 years, she directed and taught in overseas study programs in a number of countries, including UK, China and Singapore.
Dr Yang’s scholarship has centered on firms' competitive strategies in the context of international institutional environments. She has published and presented numerous papers in international journals and conferences in the area of international strategic alliances, internationalization of firms, expatriate management, international firms' practices on corporate social responsibility, and foreign market entry strategies. She is frequently an invited speaker at various research forums and seminars. She is the conference organiser and co-editor for Asia Pacific Journal of Management Special Issue on Varieties of Asian Capitalism (2007-2009).
In addition, Dr Yang has served on various committees and boards, including School of Management R&D committee, Gold Coast City Council International Relations Advisory Committee and St Paul School’s Council in Brisbane.
