Career Summary

Kerry Brown is currently Program Leader, Strategic Human Dimensions, CRC Integrated Engineering Asset Management, as well as a Professor in the School of Management, Faculty of Business at Queensland University of Technology.

She has co-authored two books, one examining the interrelationships between government, business and society and the other relating to managing change and innovation in the public sector. Kerry has co-edited a book on innovation in the construction industry and published over 40 articles in scholarly journals. She is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Small Business and Globalisation and the Queensland Editor of Public Administration Today.

She is committed to serving her community through memberships of community organisations and boards. Professor Brown is a member of the Queensland Department of Main Roads Governance Board; State Councillor, Institute of Public Administration, Queensland Division and, Chair, Queensland Community Housing Standards and Accreditation Council.

Research Interests

Professor Brown has been awarded seven ARC national competitive research grants, two additional national competitive research grants and ten industry funded projects from a variety of public, private and community sector organisations.

Principal research areas

Change management, networks, work-life balance, gender and careers in the public sector, public sector management and policy, government-community relations, and public sector employment relations.
