Career Summary

Judy is a researcher, facilitator and educator and currently is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Management at the Queensland University of Technology. Until January 2007, she was a Senior Lecturer in the School of Management, Marketing and International Business in the College of Business and Economics at the Australian National University and from 2002- 2005 was the Director of Master of Management Programs at the National Graduate School of Management at the Australian National University. In 2005-2006 she taught units in Organisational Behaviour and Knowledge Management to senior managers in China (through interpreters) in a Master of Management (Technology) program at Tsinghua University, Beijing.

Judy works with individuals, groups and organisations to improve their understanding and practice of the leadership and management of people and organisations, and the issues, themes and processes that make a difference in managing the innovation and effective knowledge generation and implementation. Judy has worked with government agencies to identify barriers to innovation and developed some practical customised solutions to improve innovation.

In 2004, Dr Matthews was a Visiting Scholar at the ESRC Centre for Research on Innovation and Competition at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom and the Innovation Policy Centre at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada.
