Career Summary
Jack became an academic relatively recently after a career in the Public Service. He has been a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Management at QUT since 2006. His prior employment includes Employee Relations and Occuaptional Health and Safety for Queensland's Department of Emergency Services and Regional Workplace Health and Safety and Training Officer and Marine and Mainland National Park Ranger for Queensland's Department of Environment and Heritage. His research focuses on managerial discretion, its determinants and consequences, including strategic and structural variety within industries. He is also interested in corporate environmentalism and social responsibility. Jack tends to work with large secondary databases, particularly Australian and US annual reports. His work includes developing innovative measurement techniques, automated data processing and statistical tests.
