Career Summary
Ferdinand Mager studied business finance from the Erlangen-Nürnberg University in Germany. After graduation, he gained employment with Deutsche Bank in New York and First National Bank in South Africa as an investment banker. In 1996 he became Research and Teaching Assistant to the Chair of Banking and Finance (Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Gerke, Erlangen-Nürnberg University) whilst working on his PhD and various consulting projects. From 2001 to 2007 he served as Assistant Professor and received his Habilitation – a German/Swiss/Austrian post doctoral degree – in 2007. In 2008, Ferdinand joined QUT as Associate Professor of Finance.
