Career Summary
Dirk studied at Humboldt University of Berlin and graduated in September 1999. In April 2000 he became a Research and Teaching Assistant while working on his PhD. His supervisor was Michael C. Burda. In October 2005 he obtained his PhD. From January 2006 to June 2008 he was Lecturer at Korea University in Seoul. Dirk joined QUT as a lecturer in finance and macroeconomics in July 2008. Before starting his academic career he gained work experience in the German banking sector.
Research Interests
- Business cycle theory, endogenous growth theory, marriage markets, fertility decisions.
Teaching Interests
- Macroeconomics, Finance, Household and Family Economics.
