Habilitation (Economics) University of Vienna, PhD (Econ) Humboldt University of Berlin, Diploma (Econ) Free University Berlin (top 2%).
Career Summary
Uwe obtained his PhD at Humboldt University Berlin in 1999. Before Uwe joined QUT he was a Professor of Economics at the University of Linz, Austria and an Assistant Professor at the University of Vienna. He was recently appointed as one of three editors of 'Economic Analysis and Policy', Queensland's leading Economics journal. His publications can be found in the 'Journal of Economic Literature', the ‘International Journal of Industrial Organization’, the 'Scandinavian Journal of Economics', among others. His research has been discussed in the Economic Focus of 'The Economist' and the 'Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung' (the Sunday edition of Germany's leading quality newspaper). Uwe was awarded an ARC Linkage Grant in 2008 and is co-investigator of two Austrian Research grants, totalling more than €500, 000 (AUD 800,000).
