QUT pioneered the use of real financial data in Queensland universities. Our Securities Dealing Room (SDR) gives undergraduate and postgraduate students access to data from Bloomberg, providers of financial data to many of the world's financial institutions.
Having live financial data available gives students a greater appreciation of the dynamic nature of financial markets. This facility continues to provide a far greater understanding and working knowledge in preparation for entry to the finance world.
The SDR is an invaluable research asset giving QUT students, staff and researchers free access to global financial instruments in both ‘real-time’ and time series.
