Lindsay Fox has been leading the field in the transport business for decades, building the Linfox Group from a one truck enterprise in 1958 into one of the largest Australian based transport and warehousing groups. With operations in 11 countries and 16,000 employees, Linfox is Australia’s largest private employer.
Together with his friend Bill Kelty of the ACTU, Lindsay Fox helped thousands of young people find work through a national campaign called “Work for Australia”. In 2008, his prodigious philanthropy was recognised when he was awarded Australia’s highest honour, a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC).
A self-made billionaire, Lindsay Fox has been an icon of the Australian business scene for many years. At this first QUT Business Leaders’ Forum for 2009, Lindsay Fox will outline what he attributes his success to and why he believes his particular brand of leadership has worked for him.
